Every day vulnerable people find themselves in dangerous environments. I am speaking about domestic violence and spousal abuse. This is a large problem in our society and it’s much larger than most would imagine. I have some education and knowledge on this topic due to my relationship with Royal LePage and our very own Women & Children’s Shelter of Barrie. The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation was created 1999. This is a Foundation that is dedicated to ending the cycle of abuse and is 100% underwritten by Royal LePage. This means every dollar donated is going directly to help women and children affected by abuse. In the past thirteen years The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation has raised $14 million dollars. Wow! And the money that is raised in Barrie stays in Barrie.
This is a lot of money to raise but the Brokers and Sales Representatives right up to Phil Soper, our CEO, all participate in numerous events and fundraisers throughout the year so that the 30,000 people annually who need help can be looked after. These numbers really astound me.
The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is deeply woven into the culture of this great company and that is something I am very proud of.
