So, I woke up this morning to news of cancelled school buses and accidents all over HWY 400 in and around Barrie once again. I happily left my kids sleeping in bed and headed in to work early. I decided it was time for a blog entry, but I’m having trouble concentrating on anything other than the snow that keeps falling and how it’s playing havoc with the Barrie real estate market.
What do YOU do when you want answers? Well, you type a few words into your Google search, right? Recently we’ve talked about Purple Wednesdays and National Pink Day and Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Easter is coming up this weekend and we just went through April Fool’s Day. I wondered what else people celebrated in April that I didn’t know about. I had no idea what I was getting myself into!
April is a very busy month with various celebrations that take place all month long. April is, for example, National Humour Month, International Guitar Month, National Pecan Month, National Welding Month, and Stress Awareness Month. It’s also Records and Information Month as well as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. That’s not all! There is a National Karaoke Week, Administrative Assistants Week, and Organize Your Files Week. Did you know that April 2nd was National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day and that April 4th was Tell A Lie Day? How about today? Any guesses? Today is both Rubber Eraser Day AND Titanic Remembrance Day. I had no idea!
Some of my favourites are coming up and I will be sure to do something special to mark the occasion. April 19th will be National Garlic Day, April 22nd is National Jelly Bean Day, the 24th is Pig In A Blanket Day and we all get to Hug An Australian on April 26th!
