As some of you heard, yesterday was the 10th annual Walk So Kids Can Talk event that sees proceeds go directly to the Kids Help Phone. My daughter and I joined a team from Peterborough and here’s an excerpt from their Facebook article:
‘Although it was cold and windy yesterday, we had a great Team55 turn out at the Walk So Kids Can Talk 5k walk at Nicholl’s Oval.
Team55 raised $2566 (unofficial) in support of Kids Help Phone and was the #1 fundraising team in Peterborough. Way to go Team!! Congratulations also goes out to Alex Bond who walked in Barrie for Team55 as our top individual fundraiser!
We had some team members who were not able to join us in Peterborough, but took part in walks, runs and just strolls around the neighbourhood in Barrie, Espanola, Toronto, Edmonton, Ottawa and England!!’
The Barrie Examiner reported that there were roughly 200 participants here in Barrie, and it was great to see so many people getting into the spirit of #BeAHero by dressing up in super hero costumes!
Alex and I would like to thank all of our supporters for making our first year of involvement a successful one!
