I am taking part in a very important walk on Sunday and I thought I would promote it a bit.
I know, I know…EVERY walk is important, right? Well, sometimes even I get overwhelmed by all the different walks & runs that are advertised out there. And the walk I am taking part in conflicts with the MS Walk happening the same morning. My mother has MS and so does a good friend of mine. But this other walk also has special meaning for me, so that’s what I’ve chosen to get involved with.
On Sunday, May 4th, 2014, in various cities around the country are hosting the ‘Walk So Kids Can Talk’ 5K walk. This ties in directly with Kids Help Phone.
Mental Health has gotten a lot of media attention lately thanks to Clara Hughes and her courage bike ride across Canada. This Sunday marks another opportunity to fund an emergency life line that needs to be available for our children, and that’s something that means a lot to me.
So, if you can join me at the South Shore Community Centre this Sunday, May 4th at 11:00 then I’d love to see you. If you’d like to make a donation to the cause, please find my personal participant page (type in my name and Barrie as a location) and give what you can. Every penny is greatly appreciated.
I’ll be dressed up and sharing pictures as I go, so stay tuned!
