If you want to market to Millenials, tell them about how progressive, trendy, and green your building project is. Green the in thing and Sean (Mason) Homes knows exactly what people want to hear with their Passion Forward town home development.

Breath mints? Hair products?
These condos are compact, they promote a green living space by preserving the existing trees, and the website has a list of why their building materials and practices are superior and therefore preferred.
As far as the City of Barrie’s Official Plan and the Province’s Places to Grow Act is concerned, this falls very much into the density guidelines for a main artery such as Essa. This space is already zoned for multiple residential use but only for retirement use, Sean Mason Homes recently petitioned for a rezoning to allow for town homes. You can check out the Barrie Examiner article by Bob Brunton for more information on that.
This seems like it would be a welcome addition to the area, but what are some things you should look out for? To answer this question we turn to John Weber for his expert Real Estate advice.
John shares his opinion on this building project:
Always ask plenty of questions. Know which building materials are being used. If you are going to be in close quarters with other residents you will want to know whether there is wood being used to separate the units.
In comparison to poured concrete wood is much cheaper; wood won’t stop a fire from spreading, and you will be able to hear your neighbors that much more. Buildings comprised of mostly wood are becoming more and more common and that is concerning.
This can seriously impact how much you enjoy your home and you want to know the building materials so you can make an informed decision whether this is a good purchase for you and your family. Come prepared with questions for the builder, it can’t hurt.
Besides this concern, this building project is the future for the City of Barrie. We are moving towards more high density “Toronto-style” buildings. This building project is like bringing Toronto to Barrie but at a more reasonable price than homes located in the GTA.
