Can you believe there are just two days left before Labour Day Weekend in Barrie? Are you ready for Back To School next week?
Well, I was looking at the Tourism Barrie website the other day and noticed that they have some ideas for things to do to mark the end of summer and the return to routine!
You can head out to the Barrie Speedway to watch cars zip around a short track, take your kids to Shanty Bay Go Karts for their own thrilling rides, or head to the Barrie Fair, which is celebrating it’s 161 st season. Tonight, August 27th, you can watch ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ which will be playing on a big outdoor screen at Memorial park at 8:30, or go a little earlier and check out the Thunder Classics auto show.
Theatre By The Bay is showcasing the stories of Robert Munsch each day until Aug 30th.
If those aren’t quite what you’re looking for, how about picking your own blueberries at Barrie Hill Farms, or relaxing on the patio of one of Barrie’s downtown restaurants, or packing your own picnic to enjoy sitting on Barrie’s waterfront?
There are so many things to do in Barrie. All it takes is a little creativity. The snow will be flying soon enough so why not take advantage of one of the many ways to get your family outdoors!
So, I hope everyone enjoys all the various activities being offered this Labour Day Weekend in this great city of Barrie!
