I just read an article in today’s Barrie Examiner that talks about the Barrie Food Bank kicking off it’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive this weekend. I read a little further and thought I would share with everyone the things that are on the most wanted list.
The Barrie Food Bank would really appreciate donations of:
peanut butter, canned fruit and vegetables, canned tune and other meat
pasta and pasta sauce, juice, juice boxes, school snacks
jam, honey, rice, condiments, cereal, mayo, flour, sugar
baby food, diapers (size 5 & 6) and toiletries
I know that Kraft peanut butter is currently on sale at Zehrs for just $2.88 or something crazy inexpensive like that. Why not make a list, grab two or three things on that list, put them in a separate bag when you check out, and drop it in the bin as you exit the store. It’s as easy as that and you’ll never miss the $5 or $10 or $20 that you just spent. Think of how much that will help a local family.
It takes all of us to keep our community healthy.
