What is the importance of today? 

Today is Dec 1, 2015.  I don’t know what’s going on in your world, but in mine I’m focused on staying in touch with our real estate clients, buying the last few things on my Christmas list, my son’s upcoming hockey tournament and having my daughters home for their Christmas break.

When I started looking over social media this morning I realized that there’s a whole lot going on today that has nothing to do with selling houses or an impending holiday season.  Today, Dec 1st, is World AIDS Day (#WorldAIDSDay), and it is Giving Tuesday (#GivingTuesday), to help offset all the ‘me, me, me’ of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday that we all just took advantage of!  We are also right in the middle of The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence (#EndViolence) which spans the Nov 25-Dec 10 time frame.  Coming up this weekend is The National Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence Against Women (#December6).

I think it’s good to stop and pay attention to the bigger picture sometimes.
