We all know that Canada’s Birthday is coming up, because we all know July 1st is our annual celebration. What’s different about this year? Well, the City of Barrie certainly kicked off the long weekend in style with the Snowbirds last night! I hope you were one of the thousands of people who had a chance to get close enough to see the spectacular airshow last night.
Donations for Women & Children
There is always a need for volunteers and donations at Simcoe County’s many charitable organizations. I subscribe to the Women & Children’s Shelter of Barrie‘s on-line newsletter, and see that they are looking for some donations. Wouldn’t it be great if a bunch of us purchased a few of these items in this week’s grocery run! Donations for Women & Children go a long way. Here’s what it says:
To help us provide needed items for the women and children who use our services, we are in need of the following donations:
• grocery gift cards • baby formula (0-12 month) • bath towels • dish soap
• sippy cups for kids • kids bathing suits (size 3T/3X and up)
For hygienic and health and safety reasons
we accept donations of new items only.

Tuesday Morning Update
What a great September we’re having! The kids are back at school, the weather is beautiful, gas prices remain low, and we still have a lack of inventory for potential Buyers to look at! September is generally the kick off to our fall real estate market. Home owners get back into a routine and focus on getting their home sold quickly with the hopes of moving before December. This is encouraging for Buyers, but the market continues to move fast and competition continues to be strong. Buyers and Sellers are out there and the John Weber Team can help put you in touch. Give us a call!!
Parkside’s Corner Market

I have lived in Barrie for a number of years, and once upon a time there was this awesome restaurant downtown called Garraway’s. I didn’t get to eat there often, but when I did it was a great experience. I also believe that sometimes things happen for a reason. [Read more…]
It’s Food Drive Time!
I just read an article in today’s Barrie Examiner that talks about the Barrie Food Bank kicking off it’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive this weekend. I read a little further and thought I would share with everyone the things that are on the most wanted list. [Read more…]
Bowls For Beds 2015
This is an event that I think is a great idea. Buy a bowl for just $25 and sample local soups. Oh, and in doing so you are helping Barrie’s homeless!
Rock 95 has a post on their website this morning explaining this great event:
